A little bit Bellydance, a little bit Hula
I love Middle Eastern Dance.
I love Hawaiian Hula Dance.
I positively hate it when the two are thrown together in the name of fusion.
A little bit of Bellydance, a little bit of Hula. Then call it bellynesian. It still does not make for a good dance; it does not do justice to either dance form.
I generally do not like fusion. After seeing this, I positively hate fusion.

errmmmm...the fusion, dun go well together. It looks abrupt and awkward.
oops...but anyway, I am better at fusion. wahahahah because I am trained as a contemporary dancer since young. So for me to make a switch to do a "happy happy joy joy" drum pc is a challenge for me. I fair better in those ultra drama mama moody stage gig. :P oops. hahahaah
the bellydance part is not bad. the hawaiian bit is awful!
bunny - maybe i should re-define fusion. you do a fusion of two dances that gives an updated version of a traditional dance. Elements of the dance forms are still intact. hula and bellydance do not mix well; besides both have their own traditions.
in general i still do not like fusion, but don't take this to mean i don't give merit to your dance :)
anonymous - i agree. she is really a decent bellydancer. she has NO idea about the hawaiian dance. but the two dance forms really do not mix well, no matter who attempts it.
hey sinlady, no problem...I know some people still feels fusion takes away the very basic earthly elements of what bellydance is.
My angmoh classmates are like that :P
But I agree that the hula n bellydance....the transition just looked weird. Its like something is not riht but I cannot explain why

OMG especially the Hula bits. Cliched BD is bad enough ... touristy Hula is HELL.
