Sidewalk Cafes of Paris
There are many fun, cultural and exciting things to do in Paris. There are many institutions of pop, historical, religious or educational significance to visit. And of course, there is the shopping.
For me, the most Parisien thing to do is enjoy a cup of freshly brewed strongly aromatic coffee in one of the many, many sidewalk cafes with a good friend and spend an afternoon people-watching.

Good coffee?! I found it so so hard to get good coffee in downtown Paris. Had to ask the friends carefully which cafes to get them. Otherwise, I end up with cups of eeky drain water.
But so nice to sit and watch the world go by. Hope you had a good time catching up with the friends!
lovely!
imp - they do have problem with coffee-coffee; they do great expresso's. i've learnt to quit asking for cafe americano, and settle for their expresso.
i had a great time overall :)
suziewong - :) how you like my 1950's chapeau ?
Heh. I like how the cafe is arranged intentionally for you to people watch. Sounds like fun.
wildgoose - you noticed the seat arrangement! took me a while to get used to sitting in the open facing the traffic at busy junctions. but i'm told they are arranged like that so that patrons can see and be seen.
i recognise you at the edge of the picture!! so chic :))
Thanks to Google Translate I can leave a comment worthy of a Frenchman:
Vos photos sont belles et je suis jaloux que vous avez passé les restes de l'été à Paris. Espresso parisien n'est pas mauvaise. J'aime la façon dont vous pouvez venir chercher les croissants du panier dans la matinée et le barman / Barista souviens exactement combien vous avala!
wat was that?!
edpj - thanks :)
shan - thanks! the last days of summer were all clear blue skies. agreed french expresso not bad :) the man took lots of great pics, so there'll be more to show here.
edpj - hehe. i was so impressed with his french!
