I don't believe
anyone who tells me he/she remains best of friends with his/her ex.
I categorically, irrevocably, unambiguously stand by my conviction that this is an impossibility.
So if you want to keep my respect for you as a person, NEVER tell me you and your ex are now best, good, or just friends.
Grieve for the loss and then get on with your life already.

Hmm... just be cordial since we still have mutual friends. I always cringe though when my first ex wants to talk to me. I just can't talk to him anymore!

My ex's wife LOATHES the very mention of my name (she does not even know me personally or anything), so that completely rules out even the POSSIBILITY of remaining friends. Not that I'm complaining :))
